Chandler St House is a 2 storey residential project that is located in Melbourne. Whilst it is a closed box on the outside to provide privacy to its users, it opens up to the courtyard to create a flexible space that transforms from being semi-open to fully open to bring nature into the house and to provide natural ventilation.
It is a warm closed box with a 45 degree timber cladding facade that continuously changes its direction depending on the location of the openings. The timber cladding wraps around the entire house.To emphasise the contrast of exterior and interior, the interiors of the house area designed as white simple spaces with timber joinery elements.
